Looking for a Great Book?

Looking for a great book to read with your family this summer?  You're in luck!

Just released this month, "The Miracle" is a book children of all ages will love.

The Miracle
Written by Laurie Cockerell     Photography by Deanna Ford

A little girl, building a fairy house in the roots of an old oak tree, finds a tiny, blue speckled egg. It’s the perfect teachable moment for her mother, who takes the opportunity to discuss the miracle of life and the value and sanctity of life, even before a baby is born.

Pro-life children’s books are rare, but I felt a strong urge to tell this story after a well-publicized attempt was made to filibuster pro-life legislation in Texas last year. I sadly noticed many young friends and relatives supporting the politician who led the filibuster, and wondered what we - as parents - have missed in teaching our children about the miracle and gift of life. How do we combat this prevalent dismissal of when life begins? How do we teach our daughters that pregnancy is a blessing, and that her job is to protect and treasure the life growing within?

I believe we have to reach our children before society and peer pressure take away that natural inclination to marvel at the miracle of life. I hope this book will help families introduce the subject in a gentle, age-appropriate fashion and that little girls who grow up with this book will always remember how precious and amazing the life of an unborn child really is.

The book is filled with beautiful full-page color photographs to accompany the story. It is available at www.kinderfablepress.com and Amazon. A percentage of profits from the sale of “The Miracle” will be donated to pro-life initiatives.

It is such a great idea to write a book for children on this very sensitive subject. The photography is wonderful and the story is very sweet . I am comfortable giving copies to friends who may not agree with the pro life movement.

Amen, Deborah! It's a wonderful way to help children begin to understand the sanctity of life. And it makes a lovely gift!
