Tonight’s CNN presidential debate is at 8 p.m. ET. It’s a great opportunity to talk with our kids about the qualifications we think are important for the president of the United States.
One idea is to keep a notebook for the 2012 election. Keep a section for each candidate you think is viable. Evaluate them on the things that matter to you. You could include things like:
- Character
- Guiding Principles
- Skills
- Voting Record
- Experience / Accomplishments
- Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney
- Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty
- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
- Businessman Herman Cain
- Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum
- Representative Ron Paul (R-TX)
- Representative Michele Bachmann (R-MN)
