This week we discovered our nephew, Christopher, is going into the military.
We love him very much and wish him all the best. We will pray for him every day. This post is dedicated to him, and all those like him, who sacrifice for us to be free.

As Americans, we live in abundant freedom, peace, and prosperity. Few people in all the history of the world have enjoyed the blessings we often take for granted.
But there is a price attached to freedom. Our men and women in the military sacrifice every day. Many live in hell, some fight and are wounded, others pay the ultimate price.
Each one sacrifices much they hold dear to keep us free.
Part of their sacrifice is knowing that people they love are also carrying a heavy burden.
Parents worry and wonder how their son or daughter is doing.
Spouses deal with loneliness, financial struggles, and the challenges of parenting alone.
Children often cry themselves to sleep because of a missing parent.
We can’t change many of the challenges. But we can make an effort to remember those who serve and be grateful for their sacrifices. And we can do a better job expressing our appreciation.
We can reach out and support them and their families.
We can set aside time each day to pray for God’s blessings to be with them.
We can do our part here at home to keep America the “land of the free and the home of the brave.”
