Veteran's Day is coming up. It's a good time to talk with our kids about America and the sacrifices each one of us should make to pass on the great gift of liberty that has been purchased with the selfless sacrifices of millions of Americans who have gone before us.
This could also be a good time to learn a new patriotic song, and to sing some old favorite patriotic songs with our families. Songs are a wonderful way to teach children of our heritage. Then each time they hear the music over the years, the message will be repeated and can be learned anew.
Here are a few great songs you could try...
America the Beautiful
Anchors Aweigh Battle
Battle Hymn of the Republic
(The) Caissons Go Rolling Along
Fifty Nifty United States
God Bless America
Here in America
I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy
In God We Still Trust
Marine Hymn
My Country 'Tis of Thee
Off We Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder
Star Spangled Banner
Stars and Stripes Forever
Taps
This Land is Your Land
When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again
Yankee Doodle
You're A Grand 'Ole Flag
