Benjamin Franklin, one of the most influential founding fathers, was born on January 17, 1706. Known as "The First American," he was an early, effective, and energetic advocate for colonial unity.
My respect for Mr. Franklin began in elementary school when Miss Pumpelly showed our class the old Disney classic, "Ben and Me." I absolutely loved it, and thus began a friendship with Ben that has endured through the years. I hope your children will enjoy "Ben and Me" as much as I did!
Note: You might want to explain to your little ones that Amos is a fun and imaginary character used to explain the extraordinary accomplishments of a great American.
