Memorial Day is always a great reminder to remember and appreciate the many sacrifices of the wonderful men and women in the U.S. military.
Speaking of our military, did you know that if they serve for 20 years, risking their lives protecting our freedom, they only get 50% of their pay when they retire?
Politicians in Congress receive FULL retirement pay after serving ONE TERM. Do you think that seems fair?
It looks like politicians might not really care what we think. When we told our elected representatives we didn’t want Obamacare, they gave it to us anyway. And they exempted themselves.
If Obamacare is so good, why don’t they want it? Why do they give waivers to all their best friends? And why do we get stuck with it?
We currently get to choose between nude body x-rays and getting groped at airports. And politicians hope to expand TSA checkpoints to sporting arenas, public transportation systems, and other public venues. But of course our "leaders" exempted themselves from any TSA screenings.
Members of Congress use taxpayer dollars to support a lifestyle of extravagance, but they tell us we must live a life of sacrifice for the common good.
They use their power to pass never-ending laws and regulations for us and exempt themselves. The list goes on and on and it doesn’t seem quite fair.
Maybe it’s time for some real hope and change. If you think so, please "like" this post and pass it on. And please urge your congressmen to support Amendment 28 to the US Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."
Seems only fair.
