"Sergeant York" is an Old Family Favorite

Picture
I’ve been hunting for cool resources for you - and I found a movie that's an old family favorite!

“Sergeant York” is about the most decorated American soldier of World War I.

Based on a true story, it portrays Alvin York, a young man from the rural hills of Tennessee, who was a wild teenager until he experienced a great change in his life and became a Christian.

Although he was a patriotic man, as a Christian he didn’t feel right about going to war.  But as he struggled to do the right thing, he came to understand that sometimes war is necessary to keep our families and country free.

His faith and courage during the war make him a true hero.  This heart-warming movie is a great one to watch with your family.  Maybe even tonight!

Courageous

"Four men, one calling: To serve and protect. When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Protecting the streets is second nature. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous."

Courageous tells the story of four men who realize the importance of active, committed fatherhood as they face personal crises.  It shows the importance of Dads in the lives of their children.
