"Despite the fact that he could not speak English when he immigrated to the United States in 1956, Thomas fulfilled the American dream.
"With hard work and dedication, he started a business that today employs thousands of people.
"In the 1970s, Thomas bought a seat on the American Stock Exchange. He played a key role in developing the electronic trading of securities and is the founder of Interactive Brokers, an online discount brokerage firm with offices all over the world."
Recently, Thomas created a one minute ad to warn Americans about the path our country is on. He wants his "adopted country" to know that we are on a "slippery slope."
Thank goodness for great people who are willing to speak out! Not everyone has experienced socialism first hand like Thomas Peterffy, but students of history recognize that, in the long run, socialism has a very bad track record.
"America's wealth comes from the efforts of people striving for success. Take away their incentive with badmouthing success and you take away the wealth that helps us take care of the needy. Yes, in socialism the rich will be poorer -- but the poor will also be poorer. People will lose interest in really working hard and creating jobs." ~Thomas Peterffy
