NBC's coverage of the U.S. Open yesterday generated some controversy.   It wasn't their coverage of the tournament, but their video introduction that stirred things up.  The video montage featured children saying the Pledge of Allegiance and NBC had edited out the words "under God" from the Pledge.  

What do you think about their omission?  

 This might be a good time to review with your kids what the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance mean to you.

The Meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance

Flag Day is an opportunity to talk with our families about what the Pledge of Allegiance means.  

You could even write down what the Pledge of Allegiance means to your family and put it in a special family notebook or create your own video using the words you have written.
