Ben Shapiro is one of the smartest young people engaged in the political dialog today.  A while back, Ben dominated a debate about gun control with Piers Morgan.

In this interview, Matt Lewis asks Ben about:
  * Ben's book, "Bullies"  (1:19 - 5:27, 15:44 - 17:02)
  * How the Liberals won the presidential election  (5:28 - 7:40)
  * How Ben won the debate with Piers  (7:42 - 15:43)
  * Ben's fast track to success  (17:03 - 20:26)

(If you don't have 20 minutes to listen to the whole interview, but are interested in a particular segment, you can drag the bar to the part of the discussion you are interested in.  It shows the time as you drag it.)

In his remarks at CPAC 2013, Dr. Benjamin Carson said that if someone wanted to destroy the United States, they would:

1.  Create division among the people.

2.  Encourage a culture of ridicule for basic moral principles.

3.  Undermine the financial stability of the nation with crushing debt.

4. Weaken morale and funding to  destroy the military.

He then pointed out that those are the very things that are happening right now.

We have great power when we really understand and believe our vision. That kind of understanding and eloquence begins in the home.

The principles of the Constitution should be part of our daily conversations.  Our children should be fluent in constitutional language.

The Constitution will only protect us if we know and love the Constitution well enough to protect it.

The Real Legacy of Margaret Thatcher
By Brandon Stewart   From Heritage.org

Picture
"Like President Ronald Reagan, her political soulmate, Margaret Thatcher came to power at a desperate time in her country's history, when real leadership and bold ideas were most needed.

"By applying conservative principles to the challenges she faced, she was able to achieve real and lasting success.

"Then, as today, she faced an extraordinary set of challenges and a chorus of voices saying her country's best days were behind it.

"Thatcher's successes are a comforting reminder of the power of a bold, conservative vision."

"If the state wishes to spend more, it can do so only by borrowing your savings or taxing you more. And it's no good thinking someone else will pay, that someone else is you."  ~Margaret Thatcher

From The Blaze:

"It’s no secret that modern academia has long had a love affair with the 'nobility' and 'loftiness' of class warfare. Indeed, where do you think this White House gets half of its 'fair share' and 'you didn’t build that' rhetoric?

"It’s about time conservatives worked together to offer America’s youth a better message of real economic justice and freedom. You know, something that doesn’t involve compulsory 'charity' (i.e. theft).

"That’s the point of The Conservatives, a new film from the Young America’s Foundation, the principal youth activism wing of the conservative movement, and award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon.

"The movie’s goal is to offer American college students a more positive alternative to the White House’s big government, top-down solutions."

One reviewer of the book wrote, "This little jewel of a book is a must-have for conservative families. It will be particularly relevant in this election year as parents talk to their kids about the candidates and the issues. Don't let the cover fool you - it's not just for kids.  This book can be used to inspire discussion and is a great handbook for talking points for all ages. It encourages readers to think through issues and to talk about what these principles mean with their families. This book is interactive and uses supporting quotes from the Founding Fathers and the Bible. I highly recommend this book!"

Melanie recommends visiting www.ConservativeChildrensBooks.com to find a good selection of books that will help you teach patriotic and conservative values to the kids in your life.

Andrew Breitbart passed away unexpectedly last night.  He was a courageous and capable political pioneer and online activist.

He helped run the Drudge Report and helped launch the Huffington Post before he started his own sites, including BigGovernment.com, BigHollywood.com, and BigJournalism.com.

In his own words, "I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and -- famously -- I enjoy making enemies.

"Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I've lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I've gained hundreds, thousands -- who knows? -- of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night."

Rest in peace, Andrew Breitbart!

“Today, the conservative movement has lost a powerful voice in the fight to protect our freedom. Andrew Beitbart was a pioneer in using social media and digital technology to bring a courageous conservative message to America’s grassroots. He did something many in the conservative movement are afraid to do – go right at the left and not back down. Andrew served as an example to the rest of the conservative movement of how to fight for our values without apology or compromise.”

“He was never afraid to tackle the most pressing issues of our time, the most damaging special interests, and the corruption and hypocrisy that threaten the American way of life. Andrew was a soldier for this nation’s core values of limited government, and individual freedom. We will carry on this great cause of protecting freedom from government excess using his passion and energy as inspiration. While he has been taken from us too soon, his voice will undoubtedly resonate and his impact will be felt long after this sad day.”  Ned Ryun, American Majority

"Andrew was among the most fully engaged people I’ve ever known, and absolutely one of the funniest. In a car on the way to dinner with Bill Ayers in Chicago last month, he launched into a soliloquy [topic redacted for readers under 18] so unrelentingly hilarious I thought I might black out from oxygen deprivation. When was the last time you laughed that hard? I did every single time I was with him.

"He was also decent as hell, a loyal friend in a business with too few of them. Andrew was one of the first people we called for advice when we decided to start The Daily Caller. He wrote a piece for us the day we launched. If we were competitors, he never acted like it.

"Andrew was a great performer of course, but I never got the sense that he was a natural extrovert. He pushed himself. He was utterly ballsy that way, willing to do things that scared him. Last year he showed up at an Occupy Wall Street protest on rollerblades. Within minutes, through pure aggression and fast talking, he’d taken command of the crowd. The protest ended when Andrew led the obedient mob to a local chain restaurant for lunch....

"He really was a great guy. There aren’t many."  Tucker Carlson
